Noah's Ark: First Pet Columbary in the Philippines

Pinoys are natural pet lovers. To date, the Philippines is one of the top 5 countries in the world with the most number of household pets. But gone were the days when pets are merely trusty watchdogs at home. Many owners have come to treat their pets as companions, friends and even as kids of their own.

What used to be just veterinary clinics to give medical attention to our pets, now services are being offered for all sorts of our pet needs. From pet dental clinics, to grooming salons, obedience class for pets and even pet hotels. All are aimed to provide the best care for our beloved animal friends.

But one important need for our pet is often overlooked- the need for a decent resting place when they pass on.

Last February 18, BM Cremation Services Inc. and Zoomanity Group, held a groundbreaking ceremony for Noah’s Ark, the very first pet columbaria in the country. The ceremony was held at the 300sqm area at Zoomanity’s Theme Park Paradizoo in Mendez, Cavite. Zoomanity President Robert L. Yupangco and Noah’s Ark Founder and President Tetet Zapanta-Huit signed a contract for the joint venture which coincided with the theme park’s celebration of the Animal Festival.

 “Noah’s Ark Pet Columbaria is the very first pet columbarium in the Philippines,” says Zapanta-Huit, “This is a haven that provides dignity to our beloved pets and memorializes the families' years of unconditional love and devotion. It will exist to provide a memorial and final resting place for our beloved pets.”

                The most awaited Hollywood movie this year is rolling on the cinema with the huge budget. As a moviegoer also I will not miss this action movie. And why should I watch this movie?

1.    I am an avid fan of Bourne Movies from Bourne Identity (2002), Bourne Supremacy (2004), Bourne Ultimatum (2007) and lastly the Bourne Legacy (2012).

2.    This is the sequel wherein Matt Damon out, Jeremy Renner in.

3.    99 % of the stunts were made by Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weisz. Chase scenes on a motorcycle and car. Trivia: It takes a couple of weeks to practiced the car and motorcycle chase in a big parking area.

4.    Actor Jeremy Renner from Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol to Hawkeye in The Avenger to Bourne Legacy as lead actor.

5.    This sequel was first titled by the director Paul Greengrass as “The Bourne Redundancy”

6.    Instant jobs for ordinary Filipinos like, Fruit vendor, Fish porter in Navotas, even a tourist guide in El Nido, Palawan became available. Even houses used as props were paid.

7.    Some of the Hollywood movies were shot in the Philippines although they tagged to have taken place in other Asian countries. But Bourne Legacy absolutely tagged in Philippines.

8.     Trivia of the movie: This conflict takes Aaron Cross (Jeremy Renner), one of the six agents being trained under Outcome, and Dr. Marta Shearing (Rachel Weisz), a research scientist with top-security clearance, to the Philippines, where a big pharmaceutical plant is located.

9.    The Philippines is one of the major set in this movie, from the NAIA, Ayala Avenue, Public Market in Marikina, San Andes in Manila, fishport in Navotas, streets in Manila and breath-taking place of El Nido, Palawan.

10.  Lastly, It’s more fun in the Philippines. It highlights the extreme ugliness and breathtaking beauty of the country.

Snack Time

           A pride of Tagaytay City, a simple restaurant in the heart of the cool place at the south that impressed  me for their specialty. Outside, it looks like a simple restaurant that offers for the aching stomach of commuters and as I visit this place and tasted their famous mushroom burger and was certified I reached Tagaytay City.

            I also tried their other specialty like Lomi with mushroom. As I observed the place, they also offer mushrooms at the price of P 100 pesos. Maybe it’s around 1 kilo that can be cooked with other vegetable.

          But wait not all mushroom are edible, according to the seller there are poisonous mushroom that can kill human. Yaiks!

                                          Ebe Dancel rocks Paseo Restaurant at Morong, Rizal

                   One of my favorite band, the Sugarfree with their Vocalist Ebe Dancel. But disband by the year 2011.  Ebe is currently recording his solo album under Warner Music, and everything is on fast track. One of his songs “Hanggang Sa Dulo,” that is going to be part of his new album.
                   Ebe said, "“My bandmates are all nice people, and we’re still good friends. This is probably one of the few breakups that the members of the band don’t end up hating each other.”
                  Hope we see them again as a SUGARFREE....
